Bill Gay, APR, Fellow PRSA

Bill_200Bill Gay, APR, Fellow PRSA, has spent his career in media management and public relations in private, public and nonprofit sectors.

Gay served as a reporter, editor and finally general manager at the Imperial Valley Press, working there from 1972 until 1997. He also served concurrently for more than 25 years in the Naval Reserve, most of it as a public affairs officer. He retired in 1994 from the Naval Reserve with the rank of a commander.

In October 1997, Reliance Public Relations, Inc. Clients have included major public agencies in the region, including Imperial Valley Community College District, Southwestern Community College District, Salton Sea Authority, the City of El Centro and the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta.

Gay received his Accreditation in Public Relations in 2007 and is currently APR chair. In 2012, he received the Deborah Baker Public Relations Professional of the Year Award from the San Diego/Imperial County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
