juliesmithtaylor_bioWhy PRSA? PRSA is essential to my professional growth and development. Through the years it has provided me with mentors, resources, leadership, skill-building and career opportunities that have literally changed the course of my professional path — and all for the good! I owe a lot to PRSA and recommend membership to any serious-minded public relations professional at any level!

Taylor is a partner and creative strategist with Taylor & Coates PR, a full-service PR and Marketing consulting firm in Southern California that helps companies build their brands through the use of a trademarked “Communications Spotlight System” that leverages the elements of creative storytelling and marketing to more effectively reach their goals.

The firm specializes in B2B communications, but has a well-rounded list of clientele that includes product manufacturers, non-profit associations, government entities and more.

With more than 20 years experience in public relations, Smith-Taylor brings media savvy, industry know-how and creative ideas to the table. A former chapter secretary and chairperson for several different committees and clusters, she now chairs the popular “Quality Time with PR Minds” program. This annual public service event connects our members with regional non-profits for an hour or two of brainstorming, sharing ideas, providing feedback, and assisting needy organizations to more effectively reach their communications goals. Smith-Taylor also represents the chapter as an Assembly Delegate/PRSA Western District Representative.

Smith-Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and has lived and worked in Washington, Hawaii and California.
