Mike is a 1976 graduate of the US Naval Academy and has Masters Degrees from the Unversity of Southern California and National University. Mike completed the Defense Information School Public Affairs Officers Course in 1999 and is a former Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer (Colonel) with his most recent assignments as  Director of Public Affairs Marine Forces Pacific and Marine Forces Central Command, immediately prior to his retirement after 30 years of Active Duty and Reserve service.

Mike was employed by CUBIC APPLICATIONS INC as the Program architect and Program Manager tasked with designing a global, multilingual Media Analysis and Effects Assessment program for operational organizations within the Department of Defense.  Mike was also the Founder and CEO of the Michael N. Daily Company, a consulting firm specializing in developing communication tools, techniques, and processes, communications measurement, analysis and effects assessment.

Mike’s most recent assignment with Booz Allen Hamilton is as the Strategic Communication Advisor for the Marine Corps Installations West Regional Energy and Water Advisory Center (MCI WEST REWAC). Past Booz Allen assignments have included Strategic Communications Advisor for the First Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF), Strategic Communication Lead for the Joint Program Executive Office- Joint Tactical Radio System (JPEO JTRS) and as the Strategic Communication Lead for the U.S Army’s Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC); both located in San Diego, California.

Mike is a subject matter expert in the areas Stakeholder Relations Management (SRM), brand design and management, operational planning and employment of strategic communications, and communication measurement, analysis and effects assessment; and is the author of numerous professional articles, lectures and educational workshops related to strategic communications planning, research, management and measurement.

Mike’s professional designations include Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and International Communication Measurement and Evaluation (ICME).
