Why PRSA? As a long-time member of PRSA, I never cease to be amazed by the public relations professionals I have met through this organization. I have the opportunity to be around some of our industry’s brightest stars and an exceptional group of people who truly embody the PRSA slogan of advancing the profession and the professional. You don’t have to be a member of PRSA to practice public relations. But if you want to be among the best, there’s no better organization to be a part of.
Rene Carmichael is the chapter manager of the San Diego Chapter of PRSA. She is involved in every aspect of the chapter, supporting the board in the execution of chapter programs, assisting chapter members and responding to inquiries about the organization.
In addition to her work as an association manager, Carmichael is a public relations consultant and freelance writer. She was previously a media specialist for the County of San Diego, specializing in internal and strategic communications, and earned regional and national recognition for segments she produced for the County Television Network. Carmichael also served as the public affairs officer for the San Diego Chapter of the Red Cross and was part of the elite national Rapid Response disaster communications team.
Carmichael served as a PRSA San Diego board member from 2001 to 2003 and volunteered on PRSA projects including the Bernays Awards and Public Service Committee.
