The annual Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards is the signature awards recognition program and event sponsored by PRSA SD/IC. The event brings together more than 300 community members and PR professionals to celebrate the best public relations campaigns and individuals in the region.
The event, held in the Fall, is made possible by a group of volunteers who are excited about event planning and celebrating the wonderful PR efforts in our community and industry. Bernays Committee Volunteer Needs 2016
1. Judging volunteers (12-14 volunteers needed) — Once we are matched with another chapter, volunteer judges from San Diego/Imperial Counties will judge that chapter’s submissions electronically on their own time. Judges must be chapter members and within each judging team of two members we like for one member to have the APR designation. The time commitment to judge awards submissions will be between 4-5 hours, depending on how many members agree to donate their time.
2. Communications Chair — This chair will be in charge of drafting all eblasts, social media content, website content and press releases around the Call for Entries and Bernays registration. This person will work closely with the PRSA SD/IC Chapter Manager to ensure content gets posted on appropriate channels in a timely manner.
3. Design/Collateral Chair — This position is the liaison between the graphic artist, printer and the committee. He/she will help steer the direction of all collateral including theme, helping proof read all content, gathering appropriate sponsor logos and ad work for the program, and submitting all printing materials to the printer in a timely manner.
4. Day-of volunteers (3-5 volunteers needed) — These volunteers will help with set-up the day-of the awards. Duties include picking up/transporting needed decorations, setting up decorations, assisting with audio as needed, etc.
