The San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, in partnership with the Glen M. Broom Center for Professional Development in Public Relations in the School of Journalism & Media Studies at San Diego State University, will offer a “Public Relations Boot Camp,” Saturday, May 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The workshop will be taught by Dr. Bey-Ling Sha, APR, director of the SDSU School of Journalism & Media Studies and co-author with Dr. Glen Broom of the 11th edition of Cutlip and Center’s Effective Public Relations–long considered the “gold standard” public relations textbook.
The boot camp is designed for those public relations practitioners who are new to the profession, including those entering at mid-career, as well as those preparing for the examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR/APR+M). The workshop will cover strategic planning, theoretical principles, research, law and ethics involved in the profession.

The fee includes continental breakfast and coffee, lunch, and on-campus parking in PS 14 (previously known as PS 8).
