Share your time and talents with appreciative non-profits at our annual Quality Time with PR Minds event. PRSA members and PR professionals at all levels of experience and backgrounds are welcome to volunteer. Even if you have just a few years experience, have a specific focus and are not considered a generalist, or are a seasoned pro, nonprofits can benefit from your contributions.
You will receive a questionnaire in advance from the nonprofit to which you are assigned so you can review their website, assess their needs and read over the areas they are desiring the most help during your time together. We hope to have up to three PRSA volunteers per organization to sit down and provide insight and feedback with each nonprofit.
The first part of the event will focus on registration, welcome comments and a presentation on crisis communications by Elizabeth Pecsi, APR Fellow and the PR Director at the San Diego Humane Society. This way, if you’re running a little late due to work issues or traffic, you will still arrive in time before we have you sit down with your assigned nonprofit. Please try to arrive no later than 5:30 p.m.
- Don’t forget your business cards!
- Refreshments will be served. There is a parking fee so be prepared for now.
- Contact Julie Smith-Taylor, APR for questions or more information at 760-213-5686 cell or email@example.com.
- Our goal is to help 23 organizations, so we are looking for a total of 66 volunteers!
Thank you. We look forward to seeing you at our event!
Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Schaetzel Center
9888 Genesee Avenue, La Jolla, CA 92037
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Best parking is in the underground parking facility located directly below the FRONT ENTRANCE of the main hospital doors. The Schaetzel Center is found to the right of the hospital. Our event will be in the first door on the right once you enter the Center. Watch for signs.
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring plenty of business cards as this is also a networking event with other PRSA members and nonprofits. You can also bring your laptop or IPad if you desire. We are encouraging the nonprofits to bring their laptops to take notes and to reference their websites, etc.
We will focus on our members first for volunteers, but if you have a co-worker or colleague that is NOT a PRSA member and you think they would enjoy helping out and have a great knowledge or skills, please don’t hesitate to invite them to also register through EventBrite.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to: Julie Smith-Taylor, APR at 760-213-5686.
