A crisis. A product launch. An important announcement. There are many occasions in which public relations professionals need to get the word out — fast.
Attend the next PRSA professional development event in Carlsbad to learn how to disseminate your key messages in timely and effective ways. Rapid Response Communication: how companies, government agencies and nonprofits can educate and activate the public quickly will include a panel discussion with professionals who have been in the trenches for some of the most pressing outreach opportunities in our region. Guest speakers include:
- Alex Bell, County of San Diego – When the Lilac Fire threatened lives, homes and businesses in North County last year, the County of San Diego swiftly educated the public. Alex will share the best practices implemented by the County and tips for how non-government agencies can use those strategies to reach their audiences in a time of need.
- Tom Christensen, County of San Diego – San Diego’s fight against Hepatitis A has dominated news headlines over the past year. Tom will share how the County addressed this emerging issue and educated difficult-to-reach audiences in our community. Additionally, he’ll share the County’s proactive approach to Zika education in the face of a looming health threat.
- Emily Cox, Red Cross of San Diego – The Red Cross is there in times of personal struggles and large-scale disasters thanks to an active volunteer base, network of partners and communication systems designed to launch information in the blink of an eye. Hear from Emily on how your organization can structure a communications team and processes that help you engage the public.
Hosted in partnership with the California Association of Public Information Officials, this professional development event will benefit North County practitioners due to its location at the City of Carlsbad’s Faraday Center. All PRSA members and non-members are welcome to attend this informative, engaging luncheon.
