Water continues to be one of the top issues faced by our region’s policymakers and businesses leaders. Reliable and affordable water supplies are critical to our region’s economic vitality. That’s why the San Diego County Water Authority started the Citizens Water Academy in 2014. The highly acclaimed program gives participants firsthand knowledge about water issues as well as opportunities to meet top management and exclusive access to key facilities.
The Citizens Water Academy is offered three times per year. The Spring 2017 class is now open for nominations and applications. Participants will attend two evening classroom sessions (5 to 8:30 p.m.) on Thursday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 8, and one daytime session (approximately 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) on Saturday, March 18.
To be considered for this class, fill out the application form here by Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017. Applications will go through a competitive evaluation process before participants are selected. If you are not able to apply for the winter class, but want to nominate someone else for this leadership opportunity, please complete the nomination form here by Friday, Feb. 3, 2017.
