i.d.e.a. Honored for Creating Extraordinary Positive Impact as a Business

i.d.e.a. was recognized for creating extraordinary positive impact as a business based on an independent, comprehensive assessment administered by the nonprofit B Lab. Honorees are featured on B the Change, the digital Medium publication produced by B Lab..

i.d.e.a. is honored in the Best for the World Overall list, which includes businesses that earned scores in the top 10 percent of more than 2,100 Certified B Corporations across all categories on the B Impact Assessment. The assessment measures a company’s positive impact on its workers,
community, customers and the environment. To certify as B Corporations, companies like i.d.e.a. must complete the full assessment and have their answers verified by B Lab.

i.d.e.a. became a Certified B Corporation in 2014 and has been paving the way for other San Diego companies to do the same.

“Helping our community and our environment is in our corporate DNA. For some companies, it is at the very core of what they do. For service
companies like ours, lining up those choices can be a bit harder to do or show,” said Chief Executive Officer, Indra Gardiner Bowers. “We are very proud to be a Certified B Corp.”

The full B Impact Assessment (BIA) evaluates a company’s environmental performance, employee relationships, diversity, involvement in the local community, the impact a company’s product or service has on those it serves, and more. Honorees scoring in the top 10 percent of all B Corporations set a gold standard for companies using business as a force for good. i.d.e.a. made the list thanks to exceptional practices such as offsetting its carbon footprint by investing in forestry, paid volunteer days, and written policies with published goals for paper and energy usage.
