Are you a PR professional with more than 5 years of experience who can share the knowledge you have gained with an up-and-coming PR practitioner? Or maybe you are new to PR with less than 5 years of experience and want to learn more about the industry from an experienced professional. Either way, the 2017 New Pros Fall Mentorship program wants you!
Our mentorship program matches a new PR professional who is eager to learn the tricks of the trade with a PR veteran who can provide them with guidance and advice. Based on feedback from our last program, we’ve made some slight changes. Mentees will establish three goals they would like to work toward with their mentor, allowing the program to be tailored to each mentees’ specific professional development needs. Goals will be established during a hands-on mentor-mentee workshop at the kick-off mixer on Oct. 5, 2017, so please mark your calendars for this event now!
Throughout the three-month program mentor and mentee pairs will focus on one goal per month to ensure maximized growth. Many mentees find that the program helps them to establish long-term relationships with their mentors that span well beyond three months. This is a great opportunity not only for professional growth but networking within the San Diego PR community!
The fall program will run from October to December 2017 and includes:
- Estimated 4-6 hour time commitment over three months (October-December)
- One in-person meeting per month with your mentor or mentee (Coffee. lunch, office tour, etc…)
- Meet-and-greet mixer with all mentees and mentors on Thursday, October 5th at Nason’s Beer Hall
Interested in sharing your PR knowledge with a new pro? Please fill out the simple Mentor Questionnaire by September 28 and contact the Mentor Program Co-Chair Kenneth Moore with any questions. Once your information is submitted, you will be paired with a mentee and will receive additional information about the program activities.
Are you a new PR practitioner who wants to gain industry knowledge from this program? If so, please complete an application and send your responses, along with an up-to-date resume, to Mentor Program Co-Chair Kelly Gardner by October 1.
