Are you a public relations professional with more than five years’ experience who can share the knowledge you have gained with an up-and-coming public relations practitioner? Or maybe you are new to the industry with less than five years’ experience, or a public relations student, and want to learn more about the industry from an experienced professional. Either way, the 2018 New Pros Spring Mentorship Program is for you!
This program matches a new public relations professional who is eager to learn the tricks of the trade with an industry veteran who can provide them with guidance and advice. Through this program, mentees will establish three goals they would like to work toward with their mentor, allowing each partnership to be tailored to each mentees’ specific professional development needs. Goals will be established during a hands-on, mentor-mentee workshop at the kick-off mixer on Wednesday, March 7, so please mark your calendars for this event now.
Throughout the three-month program, mentor and mentee pairs will focus on one goal per month to ensure maximized growth. Most mentees find this program helps them establish long-term relationships with their mentors that span well beyond three months. This is a great opportunity not only for professional growth, but networking within the San Diego public relations community.
The Spring program will run from March to May 2018 and includes:
- Estimated four-to-six hour time commitment for three months (March to May 2018)
- One, in-person meeting per month between each mentor and mentee
- Meet-and-greet mixer with all mentees and mentors on March 7, 2018
