Our Code of Ethics is designed to guide us as professional public relations practitioners to do the right thing\, to do no harm and to stand up for what is morally and ethically right.  \nPaula Pedene\, APR\, Fellow PRSA is a decorated U.S. Navy Veteran with military service during both the Cold War and Operation Desert Storm. During her service\, she discovered management’s unethical practices of keeping a false waiting list at the Phoenix VA. After raising numerous concerns internally\, that fell on deaf ears\, Paula knew she would need to take bolder moves to stop management’s unethical behavior.  \nPaula will discuss her experience\, which she detailed in her book\, “A Sacred Duty\,” a first-person account of her whistleblower journey and the challenges she faced spiritually\, physically and emotionally. DESCRIPTION:Nonprofit sign-up for two hours of free\, senior-level communications\, public relations\, and outreach consulting\n\n\nThe San Diego/Imperial County Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is hosting our annual outreach event to help San Diego and Imperial County nonprofits reach their PR/Communication goals. This year’s Quality Time with PR Minds event pairs PR professionals with local nonprofits for an evening of sharing PR best practices\, learning about nonprofit challenges\, and brainstorming tactics to support nonprofit success. \n \nThe event is at 5 p.m. on Wednesday\, June 22\, at the Better Business Bureau Ignite Center. The event opens with registration and networking at 5:00 p.m. and the program starting at 5:15 p.m. \nThe program will center on a 1.5 hour working session for PR and nonprofit professionals to team up to tackle the top organizational challenges that can be solved with effective communications and outreach.    \n \nAt the conclusion of the event\, we encourage participants to exchange contact information and be open to fielding possible follow-up questions. \n \nThank you to the Better Business Bureau for making this great new space available to PRSA.
