It’s hard to believe 2023 is coming to an end – yet I haven’t aged another year. Weird.
I’ve been fortunate to serve as president of this chapter for two terms. My feelings about the experience can be summed up in one word: grateful. At 22, I was lucky to start my career at an agency that supported my involvement in this organization, appreciated the value of professional development and encouraged me to become a chapter leader. I learned a lot, created relationships that will last a lifetime and gained the confidence to forge a path in public relations that works for me and my family. Grateful.
New Year’s resolutions are top of mind this time of year. Instead of giving up carbs – which is just cruel – consider getting more involved with PRSA SD/IC. This chapter is rebuilding in a post-COVID world. There is a real opportunity to make change, support the development of colleagues and give back to the next generation of PR pros.
I can say from experience, you will be grateful.
