Join PRSA SD/IC’s online roundtable on the Power of Civil Discourse and How it Enhances Our Profession

Communicating with Civility Is Fundamental to Our Profession

The last decade has seen a rapid decline in the public’s willingness to speak and to treat each other with civility. Some will blame a contentious political environment, the popularity of social media and the anonymity it affords, or the ongoing degradation of decency and compassionate thinking.

As public relations professionals, we should always champion the idea that effective communications is based on civility, compassion, and respect for all.

In honor of National Ethics Month, our chapter is focusing on the the importance of civility and how we can hone our skills to become stronger, more sensitive and more powerful communicators. We want to help you strengthen your skill set so you can not only enhance our profession by your actions, but become highly respected leaders in public relations who adhere to our established Code of Ethics and value civil discourse in all that we do.

In this webinar, you will hear:

  • Why civility has become part of PRSA’s strategic plan
  • Skills that can make you a more effective communicator
  • How to disagree productively
  • Questions to ask a prospective client or boss in order to rate their ethical standards before you say “yes”
  • An 8-Point Checklist on how to maintain civility and communicate effectively in difficult or polarizing situations
  • Examples of successful campaigns where civil discourse made all the difference

We’ll also leave plenty of time for questions and further discussion.

This lunch and learn event is one you don’t want to miss!
